Havisure is a vaccine designed to protect against hepatitis A, a viral infection that affects the liver and can lead to symptoms such as fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, and jaundice. How It Works
Havisure contains an inactivated form of the hepatitis A virus. When administered, it stimulates the immune system to produce antibodies against the virus, providing protection without causing the disease. Antigen used is strain HM175.
Administration
- Primary Series: Typically administered as a single intramuscular injection.Primary immunization should be administered at least 2 weeks prior to expected exposure to HAV
- Booster Dose: A booster dose is recommended 6-12 months after the initial dose to ensure long-term protection.
- Administration Site: Given as an intramuscular injection, usually in the upper arm (deltoid muscle).
Side Effects
