- Works for ages 6-45 years
- No testing needed before vaccination
Other Options Coming Soon: Scientists in India and around the world are developing even more dengue vaccines. Some are using newer technology to make them more effective and easier to produce.
🦟 Malaria Vaccines
What is Malaria? A serious disease spread by mosquitoes, most common in Africa and some parts of Asia. It can be deadly for young children.

For the first time ever, we now have approved malaria vaccines! This is a huge breakthrough that could save hundreds of thousands of children's lives.
Two Approved Vaccines:
1. RTS,S/AS01 (Mosquirix)
- First malaria vaccine ever approved
- Provides about 40% protection against malaria
- Three shots initially, plus a booster after 12-18 months
- For babies 5 months and older
- Already given to over 2.3 million children in Africa
2. R21/Matrix-M (Newer)
- Shows even better protection – over 75% effective!
- Developed in partnership with Serum Institute of India
- Four doses total – three to start, one booster a year later
- Easier to produce in large quantities
💉 Tuberculosis (TB) Vaccines
What is TB? A serious lung infection that has been around for thousands of years. The current vaccine (BCG) is 100 years old and doesn't work as well in adults.
Why Do We Need Better TB Vaccines?
The BCG vaccine we use now works well for severe TB in young children, but not as well for preventing infection in older kids and adults. New vaccines in development aim to protect everyone better!

What is RSV? Respiratory Syncytial Virus causes breathing problems in babies and young children. It's especially dangerous for premature babies and infants under 6 months.

For Pregnant Moms:
If you're pregnant, you can get an RSV vaccine between weeks 32-36 of pregnancy. This helps protect your baby for the first 6 months after birth!
Available vaccines: Pfizer's ABRYSVO, GSK's AREXVY, or Moderna's mRESVIA
For Babies After Birth:
Nirsevimab: A one-time shot that protects babies for about 5 months during RSV season
Palivizumab: Monthly shots for high-risk babies (premature, lung problems, etc.)
